Our Brewery

Smoky Mountain Brewery
began like the story of many
great beers—with a lot of
passion and trial and error…

The oldest craft brewery in East Tennessee, Smoky Mountain Brewery (SMB) opened in 1996 when the idea of local microbrews served fresh wasn’t as common. Since then, the craft beer market and our own menus have both grown substantially, but our commitment to freshness and quality remains the same as it was in those early years.

Today, we’re thrilled to share our handcrafted microbrews with guests at many of our East Tennessee restaurants. Crafted in small batches at our four breweries, each beer delivers the freshest, most flavorful experience.

Mountain Light

A low-carb American light lager. Refreshing taste and low in calories. Crisp, clean and delicately hopped.

Cherokee Red Ale

A medium bodied amber ale, well balanced with a slightly fruity note. Inspired by the “Red” ales of Ireland.

Appalachian Pale Ale

An intensely hoppy, golden colored ale. Bursting with citrus and floral hop notes with a quenching bitterness.

Helles

Continental style lager enjoyed throughout Europe. Less hoppy than pilsner, very drinkable. Light in color and balanced with Bavarian hops.

Black Bear Ale

English style brown ale with a deep chestnut color. Low hopping rate and lightly carbonated. Rich malty-sweet finish with a touch of roastiness.

IPA (India Pale Ale)

A west coast American IPA. Small amounts of honey malt and biscuit malt balance beautifully with loads of late-addition aroma hops.

Dark Ale

Ask your server about our current selection of dark ales.

Thunder Road Pilsner

Honey colored lager infused with the famous Czech Saaz hops. Full hop flavor and aroma while maintaining a balanced hop bitterness.

Brewmaster Special

Ask your server about the special brew our Brewmaster is working on today.

Kolsch

German-style Kolsch, light in color and malt character accompanied by a slightly dry, crisp finish.

Seasonal Brews

Winter Warmer

Rich, creamy strong ale. In the tradition of an English “Olde Ale”. Slightly nutty, fruity, flavor notes.

Harvest Fest Lager (Autumn)

Amber lager modeled after the famous beer of the Munich Oktoberfest. Balanced with Bavarian hops and extremely drinkable.

Rotating Seasonal

Ask your server about today’s offerings. Throughout the year we offer a unique brew to celebrate the changing of the seasons.
